Split
Split is the largest city in Central Dalmatia. The city was originally built around the Diocletian palace which was built for the retired Roman emperor Diocletian. In the last Decade, Split has become one of the most well know destinations in Croatia.
Split offers a multitude of boutique shops, restaurants, cafes, beaches and activities. Evenings can be spent wondering the historic streets, soaking in the Mediterranean atmosphere and watching the local fashionistas and parading down the famous Riva. The Riva stretches towards the well protected ACI marina of Split and is the longest sea front promenade in the Adriatic.
The cities location makes an excellent base for exploring the wonders of Split-Dalmatia county, not to mention the many islands that lie just offshore. Ferries run Daily in peak season to the Islands Solta, Brac, Hvar, Vis and Korcula. The new sea plane network from Split harbour opens up these destinations in a fraction of the travel time making it perfect for day trips. Other nearby mainland locations include the renowned towns of Trogir, Solin, Makarska all accessible within a 30 minute car journey.
