Created using the finest white Brac stone as seen on the American White house, villa Ivy is one of the few villas given a 5 star categorisation by the Croatian tourist board. Staffed with a house maid and villa host, this is a property in which guests can truly relax and be looked after from the moment they arrive.
Individually and stylishly decorated with uncluttered elegance, all the bedrooms open out onto terraces with fabulous views over the bay of Sumartin and the Biokovo mountain range. Cushions, blinds and bedspreads are rich and textured, with silks and materials sourced from around the world. All the air-conditioned bedrooms have Egyptian cotton linens with opulent bathrooms and plenty of fluffy towels to pamper oneself with after a day in the sea or around the pool.
The stylish kitchen has uninterrupted views over the bay and holds all the gadgets needed to make cooking and hosting a pleasure. The living room combines contemporary furniture, artwork and sculpture mixed with antique and vintage pieces from France and India.
Outdoors
Moving to the outside area of the property you will find the stone infinity pool with stunning views over its horizon edge to the turquoise bay and mountains beyond. The pool has four infinity edges and an endless swimming jet. Surrounding the swimming pool there are plenty of sun loungers for you to enjoy a lazy day in the sun. Being a waterfront property, the villa is perfect for fishing fans who can relax and enjoy fishing from the jetty. The dining terrace has fabulous views of the mountain range in the evening making it the ideal spot to dine on the days catch. Canoes and windsurfing equipment can be used for playing in the bay.
Nearby Diversions
The villa is ideally located for exploring the beaches and islands of the Dalmatian Coast. There are a few small beaches within the bay itself with many more in nearby coves. However no matter where you go you may be sure you will find perfectly transparent, clean unpolluted sea.
There are nine small fishing harbours to explore on the island plus several inland villages. Each has its own attractive character
The closest restaurant is roughly 100 meters away. It is a small family restaurant which is only open during the summer. It also delivers food to the villa if required. There are several restaurants in Sumartin which is approximately 1 km away at the other side of the bay. There are a couple of restaurants within 20 minutes which are only accessible by boat. There are a number of restaurants in nearby villages with the largest concentration in the town of Bol which is approximately 20 km away.
The Villa has a mooring for visiting boats and larger vessels can be anchored in the bay or in Sumartin harbour. A boat and skipper can be hired on a daily basis allowing guests to be transported to other islands and to experience a full range of water sports. Daytrips can be made to the island of Hvar, Vis, Korcula and Bol.
Accommodation
Entrance Level – The two master suits can be found off the main entrance hall. Both benefit from full height glass windows giving access to the stunning sea and mountain views. Blackout curtains open to let sunbeams flood the room with warm light. The beds themselves are king size and benefit from Egyptian cotton linens. Opposite the bed, the TV screen is linked to the central satellite. Both bedrooms have large private balconies with their own seating area allowing guests to take breakfast or just to escape to their own private domain. The bathrooms are a sublime exercise in understated opulence.
Middle Level – The living room and kitchen open on to an outside terrace area. Folding glass doors allow the floor to become open plan, creating an alfresco living environment. There is the option of dining inside or outside. A glass wine cella, media room and office can be found on this level.
Ground Floor – Two further en suit bedrooms with patio doors leading out on to the main terrace giving panoramic sea views over the pool. Both rooms have large king size beds which can be made into twin single beds. A self-contained spa with a sauna, steam room and gym can also be found on this level.
